Bits of Joy in the Mundane

Hello!

My week was not too relevant in the social aspects, but work was interesting to say the least.

I have many new projects to organize and even if it's stressful, it makes me feel fulfilled and excited. I get to challenge myself, and prove that I can totally do better in my position. Regardless of some things I don't enjoy, it's great to know I'm at least in the right path to gain experience.
I wake up and I still have the drive to take myself to the office and overall find joy in conversations with my coworkers.

My fave thing these days is this mango flavored Greek yogurt. It's sweet enough and doesn't leave that weird texture in your mouth

For some reason yellow has been really present in my mind these days as well...
Yellow can mean many things, but let's say that it's because I've been more optimistic lately.

This snack was good, I have been craving sweet lately and that is pretty rare for me. We like to share snacks everyday at work, so this time one of my coworkers got us this.

My hands end up looking like this all the time, it's part of my job description. Also, the main reason why I wear not so cute clothing to work. Functionality and comfort are key,  and I am not about to ruin my LL.

Then Friday after work we celebrated my mom's b-day with some seafood and beer. There are many breweries in San Diego, so we chose Thorn brewery which is in Barrio Logan.

I had Thorn beer before, but in that place they had a bomb tamarind michelada.

Got some fish tacos and could only eat like one and some bites.

This foodtruck outside the brewery was incredible! Also, Baja style fish tacos are cheff's kiss!

Our micheladas with chamoy, it was seriously the perfect closing for a summer Friday.

I have been playing BTS Island, and it's pretty addictive.... Also started watching Bojack Horseman, and it hits too close to home in some of the issues. Generational trauma is no joke.

Soon I'll move out of this place, so I've been thinking about my new set up... might go back to streaming in Twitch once the dust settles.... We'll see what happens.

For now I'll go to get killed in Apex Legends.

XOXO

My week in Eats

 Hi!

Here's my highlights of the week! Since things have been a bit hectic these days, I tried to make something for me me me. I'm bad at cooking for myself so I made quick things that would be ready in 5 to 10 minutes.

Some tuna with veggies, kewpie mayo and rice... seaweed to wrap each bite

Salad and some octopi turkey sausage (salchi-pulpos in Spanish).
I've been using up my ingredients and trying to give some cuteness and make my coworkers eat what I make as well.

I want to make spring rolls... These are from a Vietnamese restaurant near my house. I went on Friday night for some drinks with my sister and some friends.

Egg rolls were yummy too!

Then at a local brewery there was this really inspiring portrait of a Yorkie...

Saturday I had to go to Tijuana to visit the endocrinologist to read my thyroid exams...

Before the appointment my mom and I went to this really cute café.
The avocado toast was nice! It had a really runny egg on top. Also the greens and vinaigrette on top worked nicely!

Chilaquiles are my fave dish ever! Is such a homey and cozy comfort meal. Every time I eat it I feel like my grandma is hugging me

I am going to be talking more about food to sort of document my journey. I need to lose around 30+ kg in order to avoid difficulties in the future. I am so thankful to be completely healthy and free of any illness! I got the chance to begging a treatment for weight-loss, which overall I believe will help me learn a more active lifestyle.

So please expect more food posts and related topics in the future!
Not sure if I'll post recipes, since I suck at those...

BONUS TOPIC OF THE WEEK

I finally tried some resin...
Yes, I needed to screw some pieces first before I got to do the good stuff...

This is my first go... Don't be too cruel, be gentle with me :(

So far I learned that I need to:

❤ Get stronger UV lamp

❤More space and table surface

❤Better lighting

❤Sketch my idea first

❤Get a lighter and a spray bottle for rubbing alcohol

This is it for this time!

XOXO-

Spiced Up Saturday+LIFE UPDATE

皆さん、こんにちは♡

I am keeping my strike with blogging mundane but interesting things so far. I gotta say, emotionally shit has been tough these days. However, I feel like I'm more calm and collected than I would have been last year. My motto right now is:

"Life is shit, but is up to me to handle how I react."

I give permission to myself to feel sad and cry if it's necessary, but I must keep walking and figuring out how I want to live my life.
I'm turning 30 this year, it feels like as painful as shit is I am growing and giving myself what I truly deserve.
This is the selfcare route I chose and the people who are to grow with me will stay and the ones who are not there yet... we might meet later o we might not.

On to how my Saturday went...
I  had to do some analysis for my thyroid, and TBH weight conversations and Drs. who love to call me "chubby" truly trigger me....

So I decided to wakeup early and cheer myself up with pink eyeshadow. Pink will always be there to fill me up with all the energy and strenght I need...

I could not find my lenses, so I used contacts instead.

After the bloodwork and the other tests I found out I could not go to my appointment since the results were not ready until later that day. However, I got an email with my tests and so far everything looks great. I still need to do other tests next Saturday, but I am sure there's going to be a solution to my situation.

Then we were starving, so my mom and I decided to go to Paseo Chapultepec to try this restaurant we saw on Google. The plaza is really fancy, it reminds me of Polanco in Mexico City... It was actually designed by a friend of my mom's inspired by the plaza I just mentioned.

Lorenza Tijuana is such a pretty place!

The restaurant itself was more of a Mexican fusion and the mixed drinks as well as

Then I went home and decided to clean up my messy bed. I need to start organizing and donating old stuff... because we might move out of this apartment soon.
I'm both worried and excited, because it means I get to decorate a new room and probably have more space to go back to streaming and doing art.

Next weekend is a Holiday, I will use it to store things I don't use as often.

What's in my bag....after I threw away all the junk and changed my wallet.
Daiso has so many scores! Like the My Melo cosmetic bag.

Then I decorated my meds' organizer... because I have to be that bitch and I'm entering into a deco era.

And finally to close the day, my sister found this Alice in Wonderland tea set while thrifting. So she came all the way over to my house to give it to me! It's original and really cute!

And that's my update, hope to bring more interesting things this week!
Time to unwind and do some crafting.

XOXO-
